CARRIÓN / AGMManuel Paredes did not imagine what a badly screwed jump could cause until he found one of them.This 32-year-old resident of La Alberca is still moved when he remembers the accident he suffered on September 27 of last year when returning home with his girl, Alejandra, after attending a spinning class.«My girlfriend and I were coming from the gym and, when we went over the jump, I lost control of the motorcycle and we had the accident.It was all very fast, I remember that I noticed how the wheel slipped and the bike jerked.Then I slammed on the brakes, we fell to the ground and the motorcycle slid until it ended up moving a container several meters.My girlfriend fell on top of her and left her arm totally torn and her leg bruised.I had a strong impact on the hip against the asphalt and I was still in pain », he assures.After the accident, Manuel was diagnosed with a hip fracture that has meant that for two months he has had to use a cane to be able to take a step.“I couldn't even move from the pain and I had to stick myself with an anticoagulant.Then I started doing rehabilitation, but now I have had a relapse again and the doctors who have seen me have told me that it is due to fat necrosis caused by the impact I suffered in the accident, "says Manuel."It hurts even when I sit down, it's horrible," confesses this Nursing Assistant student who felt how all his plans were going to waste.«I had just started internships and had also got a job that I have not been able to join since I had the accident.Everything was going very well and suddenly I found myself unable to leave the house, I am a very active person.I had a very bad time », he highlights.The event took place on La Paz de La Alberca street, a residential area in which the neighbors already feared that something like this could happen sooner or later.“Several people came out of their houses and told us that this rubber bump had been unscrewed for a long time and that it shouldn't be that way because someone could have an accident.The driver of a car that was behind me at the time of the fall thought that a cat had crossed me because of the movement we made », he affirms.Manuel denounces that the ambulance took more than an hour and a half to reach the scene.“Shortly after the accident, I began to feel bad.I was in anguish and very dizzy from hip pain, so I had to get in the back of the patrol car that came, crying in pain, and, meanwhile, my girlfriend was on the ground because we couldn't move her as a precaution» , he recalls in anguish.It was at the beginning of December of last year when Manuel gave a statement to the Local Police to report that there was a dangerous obstacle on the road, but he says that almost two months passed before the loose speed reducer module was removed.«I don't explain it to myself, I went from time to time around the area to see how it was and it was still the same.At the end of January, they removed it, but the bump is still not fixed and I think it's worse than if there weren't, because people try to avoid the pieces that are left on the road and there is more chance of falling if you are on a motorcycle.Manuel has filed an asset claim with the Murcia City Council for the bad condition braking band that caused the accident that has caused him ailments from which he has not yet recovered.“Luckily, nothing serious happened to us and I can get a ridge in my teeth, but they haven't fixed it yet.And if they know that the rubber bumps can be unscrewed, put them on asphalt like there are in other places.Proper maintenance is not done and there are many streets in La Alberca where the same thing happens », he regrets remembering that last day in which he was able to go to the gym and lived without pain.From the City Council they respond that they have not been aware of the damage until the end of May, when Manuel's patrimonial claim was notified to the Traffic service.Municipal sources also assure this newspaper that "the highlights of that street will be reviewed."
